316LSi has increased silicon content than 316L that significantly improves the wetting characteristics of the weld. This produces optimum ease in welding and smooth bead appearance. The alloy has a low carbon content which makes it particularly recommended where there is a risk of inter-granular corrosion.
316LSi is the most widely used stainless steel MIG wire.
